On May 16th a group of 18 area firefighters completed the 3rd and final session of the Incident Response to Oil & Gas Well Emergencies course held at the International Wax Training grounds in Farmer’s Valley. The technician level course provided the students with hands on application of extinguishment methods on live fire situations, including set-up and operation of water, foam, and dry chemicals applications. More photos of the course can be found in our photo gallery area. And 32 area firefighters took part in a 16 hour Structuare Burn Class on May 16th and 17th. On Saturday, students went through a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inspection and practiced techniques that would be used in the live burn on Sunday. On Sunday, fires were set for each student to extinguish and then exterior operations were in place for the final burn.
